Leila has
appeared on stage as “Feste” in “Twelfth Night” (Vanbrugh Theatre),
“Rachel” in “Perfect Wedding”, (National tour), “Elizabeth” in
“Taking Steps”, (Durham), “Bianca” in “The Taming Of The Shrew” at
Stafford Castle and “Julia Simmons” in “A Murder Is Announced”
(National tour). She has also been featured in several pantomimes
including “Snow White” in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and
“Princess Poppy” in “Puss in Boots” at the Connaught Theatre in
Worthing, “Dick Whittington” in Southsea as “Fairy Bowbells”,
“Aladdin” in Torquay as the “Princess”, and the title role of
“Cinderella” in Canterbury.
This Year
Leila was invited by the University of Kentucky as a representative of
Youth Support Charity to create a specific Drama workshop to raise
awareness of teen suicide and prevention in the U.S. State with the
second highest rate.
Leila has
recently been introducing children as young as two to the work of
William Shakespeare and was asked by the BBC to teach and advise in
their programme of the record breaking Shakespeare festival “One night
of Shakespeare”.
Throughout
her career Leila has been aware of the needs of disadvantaged children
and has given time to the charity Youth Support in the capacity of
Drama Director for the World Youth Forum and special events. She has
recently appeared in the film and documentary ‘Generations’ for
Dial-Media productions.
